JW Kelly Old Milford Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
Delicious.
This has a lot of familiar Bourbon flavor notes, but with a lig Read Moreht pepper spice on the finish. Imagine Jim Beam and MGP had a baby.
Very good texture. Medium-long finish with the sweeter notes slowly evolving into that peppered oak finish.
Great showing from this brand. Really looking forward to trying more from them Read Less

For whatever reason, I’ve never really gravitated much towards Rye Whiskey. But, after seeing this bottle recently I was very intrigued and wanted Read Moreto give it a try.
I must say, I enjoyed this a lot! There might even be a chance.. I went for a second😉
So maybe I’ll dive a little more into Rye’s going forward. Whats some you enjoy? Cheers! Read Less

Straight Bourbon Whiskey
BARREL PROOF
By Cedar Ridge Distillery
116 Proof
Char No. 3 / Non-Chill Filtered
Read More> Appearance - This pour has a semi-golden amber color. After a quick swirl it coats decently well and develops legs fast that are thin and sporadic as they streak down the glen. This pour looks fun!
Nose - As you get into the glen, the pour first starts off with burnt brown sugar, toffee, and cinnamon (stick) spice. As you go back in you get vanilla and some light cherry notes as well as some oak and citrus notes. The nose on this is very nice!
Palate - As you take that first small sip this pour begins its story with notes of thick syrup and brown sugar along with some peanut. With this combination, I can’t help but think of peanut brittle! I love me some of that! Wow! As we go back in for a slightly larger sip we get black pepper and tobacco as well as some creamy vanilla with a hint of corn. This palate is really solid! Borderline dessert pour as that peanut brittle combination of notes leads you that way, but the black pepper is enough to keep it from being too sweet.
Finish - As you sit with this pour and allow it to finish its story, you get notes of sweet molasses that linger along with some light chocolate and oak. The finish is medium as it does not last too long, but long enough for one to remember the pours tale. The finish is about spot on as any more or less and I think you might just miss out on this wonderful experience that shifts from sweet to spice and back to sweet. With the sweetness muted on the finish, it becomes more than a dessert pour and becomes a wonderful conversation to be shared with friends.
Overall - This pour is not complicated at all, for many it could be described as mundane. But if you stopped there, you would completely miss the true gift this pour is. It is so simple on the surface, yet allows one to do something most people long to do. That is have a wonderful pour that won’t hijack a conversation with friends, but still be a part of the conversation. It’s a beautiful balance between meh and memorable, this isn’t an insult, it’s actually high praise. I hope everyone can understand this statement, get one of these and pour it up with some friends and experience for yourself. This pour is no slouch!
Score #/10 - aAs I sit and wonder just how I will score this pour, I believe that I am going to settle in on a 7.2/10 and as I take another sip I am reassured that I am right. This is one of those pours that if you go in with the expectation of letting the pour speak you will enjoy it immensely! Read Less

14 Year Old Tennessee Whiskey< Read Morebr /> Batch 1

Aged 1️⃣4️⃣ Years
Mashbill:
80% 🌽
12% Malted Barley

Simply a phenomenal pour! JD is one of my top brands for sure and the did not disappoint with this release!
For the 14 Year Batch 1, everything tastes a shade darker, a touch drier, and more developed. In particular, the red cherry notes from the brand’s best release to date, 12 Year Batch 1, are now darker cherry, molasses is now more robust and sweet oak is still sweet but more charred and aged.
