Recently got into Esspresso and there are a lot of similarities in bourbon I’ve found! I’ve used my palate to pick out notes that differentiate different types of roasts and brands of coffee.
Now back to bourbon. The more bourbons I try the more confident I am on my favorite bottles and EH Taylor is probably my favorite all around bottle. it’s just a solid bottle that blows me away every time. Not too expensive or as hard to find. Not a super high proof and suck a versatile bottle. Loved by so many with sweet berries and sugar sweetness. Finish for days as well. This bottle just doesn’t miss.
Now back to bourbon. The bottle open for tonight. And I disagree with anyone who says it isn't worth the money.
I have always found most Amburana finished bourbons very much enjoyable, especially Penelope Rio and Starlight Cigar. I spotted a store pick Amburana finished bourbon from Dead Drop and jumped on it. This pick blew me away, and is easily the best expression of an Amburana finished bourbon. I hope Thornton Distilling makes this a permanent bottle in their lineup.
