That unmistakable young craft profile of raw wood and grain rolls out through the nose and across the palate and through the finish.I'm a bit shocked
that this Ragged Branch Wheated Bourbon is 4 years old.Could it need longer because the cool mountain air doesn't give the barrels as much expansion or are there more immature barrels than mature barrels in the small batch blend.I don't know.hat I do know though is that this doesn't really hit the mark of a similarly aged Kentuck or Indiana bourbon.Next to something like Maker's Mar or Larceny Bourbon the maturity difference is abundantly clear.Honestly, it reminds me of what Wyoming Whiskey tasted like in the early days before they had well-matured stock and their blending down pat.That all said it's not terrible and if they can get that 'craft' profile out of it like WW did they'll be on to something.
