Saw this at the bar and I just had to try it. There’s been a lot of hype over this bottle and I’m a fan of regular Eagle rare and high age statements so this should be right up my alley.
And oh my how right I was. Berry sweetness, no ethanol sweet sugars but with a more dusty and refined texture/taste. Nose and palate is pretty similar and this fixes the relatively shorter finish than the 10 year Eagle Rare. Definitely worth picking up MSRP but the secondary price is a bit ridiculous.

One of my go to pours and I forget it’s high proof. Doesn’t drink like 130.

Little Book Chapter 9

Appearance - The pour has a deep golden amber to it. After a quick swirl you see that it coats well and begins to develop legs that are medium size at a decent rate that slowly glide down the glen. This pour looks to be one that will coat the mouth very well.
Nose - As you begin to see what this pour has you first get sweet red apples, caramelized brown sugar, and vanilla right off. It’s kinda similar to a nice caramel covered apple freshly made and bit into. As you work past the ethanol, which has a substantial bite to it, you get rewarded with notes of red fruit jam, like a cooked cherry with sugar. This nose is wonderful and inviting, however, it warns you as it has the stout ethanol bite that seems to be the calling card of a lot of the Beam special releases. But for those who know how to work past it, this nose is well done!
Palate - As you take the first small sip you get those caramelized brown sugar notes with vanilla and sweet cherry. This is absolutely delicious! As you go in for a larger sip you get some baking spices and a punch of oak spice. The sweet beginning is now overcome by a solid spice explosion which makes the palate tingle before the oak starts to tame it down with a dryness. This pour does this well dance well!
Finish - The finish on this pour is medium long and that oak dryness helps it from being too much of a spice bomb. You are left with those baking spices and oak spice, but unexpectedly you get small pockets of burnt brown sugar and cherry that come in as this pour fades and eventually leaves you to reminisce of the dance you just had.
Overall - This pour is a delightful one with all the notes it gives. It’s a joy to nose, enjoyable to sip, and amazing to reminisce about once it’s gone. There isn’t much to not like about this pour and it is in the upper tier for pours of the year. I do not think it will finish in the top five, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it in the top ten. The calling card ethanol kick along with the wonderful mingling of sweet and spice, back to sweetness is just so enjoyable. This is a great pour.
Score #/10 - As I sit and continue to sip and enjoy this pour, it is one that I am comfortable giving a 8.7/10 as it just misses out on that special 9/10 range. It’s just a wonderful experience.

I have purchased this bottle 3 or 4 times already. It is usually on sale every couple of months at my local Spec's for $18 to $20 off of their MSRP. It is a delicious High Proof Bourbon (116 Proof) out of Las Vegas.

On the palate, it’s a balance of sweet and spice and caramel drizzle meets cracked pepper, oak, and a subtle chocolate depth. The finish lingers long, warm with hints of orange peel and seasoned wood.
A well-crafted rye that shows how a thoughtful double-oak finish can add both richness and restraint.
