Not the typical Makers I see on a bar so I had to try it. Very nice creaminess like makers is known for. I get a nice coffee beans/dark chocolate/espresso on the palate as well. Very pleasant finish and a great release from Makers Mark!
Taconic Distillery (up in NY's Hudson Valley) is killing it with their small-batch, award-winning bourbon. They use local New York grains and keep it non-chill filtered. Total outdoor vibe.
Must-try bourbons: Dutchess Private Reserve, the Barrel Strength, the Bottled in Bond, and that amazing Double Barrel Maple finish. So good. 🥃

Today I wrapped up an 16 hour camp out for the release of Still Austin’s 2025 Tanager. Secured the Tanager and was also to snag the December Nancys pick Rye. A good amount of tabbaco and leather on the palate and a slight sweet after tone. Cheers!
There aren’t many bottles I keep sealed since I like to enjoy the bottles I have. However Rock Hill Farms is an exception. This bottle was particularly hard for me to find and recently after I go my hands on it, I got the chance to try it at a bar. I was very unimpressed to say the least like a less flavorful and younger Elmer T Lee.
I still have very fond memories of acquiring this bottle and I think it looks good on my shelf so this is my mulligan bottle. My one “museum piece”.
