THIS IS MY OPINION!
@penelopebourbon Chapter One Cigar Session American Whiskey – A Personal Miss, But an Appre Read Moreciated Release.
I recently purchased the Penelope Chapter One Cigar Session American Whiskey, and while I truly appreciate the creativity behind this release, it just wasn’t a match for my palate at this time.
This expression brings a bold and unique profile to the table. The richness and intensity are undeniable—there’s a deep, smokiness with a heavy, almost leathery finish that seems a purpose for cigar pairings. I can absolutely see how this would excite to certain whiskey drinker.
That said, for me personally, the flavor profile leaned a bit too far in that direction. I found it a little overwhelming and not quite balanced to my taste. The sweetness I look for in a pour was more muted, and the notes just didn’t quite come alive for me.
Still, I appreciate @penelopebourbon for pushing the boundaries and offering something different. It’s always exciting to see brands take risks and try something new, even if it doesn’t hit home for every palate. I know there’s an audience out there that will love this bottle—it just wasn’t mine.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this one. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
