➡️Review: Logan Pass American Single Malt Whiskey
-Distillery: Glacier Distilling
-ABV/Proof: 45/90
-Age Read MoreStatement: 3 years minimum, with up to 5 years in the blend
-Mash Bill: 100% Malted Barley Ex Rye Barrels used for aging
Located in Coram, Montana, Glacier Distilling is another craft distillery I have enjoyed writing about and maybe introducing you to something new. Let’s dive in!
Nose: Right away I find raw honey followed by baking spice, a fantastic complement of grain, subtle caramel, and maybe a hint of green apple at times. It seems to be predominantly raw honey forward though.
Palate: As I start into this, I find burnt peanuts lead the way, raw honey, hint of pepper and very bold oak presence dominate at times. Midway through I start to find subtle citrus, but what throws me for a curve is how much orange creamsicle I start to pick up towards the end. If someone was to have this and mention picking up some flavors that confused them a little, I would definitely understand that.
Finish: Pepper spice, raw honey, and whole grain cereal. It does come off a little on the shorter side.
-Conclusion: First and foremost, I can’t thank everyone at Glacier Distilling enough for sending this bottle my way. As I mentioned in the palate section, the ex rye barrel influence occasionally comes through a bit stronger than expected, which can make some of the flavors feel a little confusing at times. That said, I think this bottle is worth a pickup and if you find yourself in Montana, give them a visit!
Cheers! Read Less

Ok I admit this is a bit larger of a pour than I normally have, but have you ever ordered something at a restaurant and you’re full but the part tha Read Moret’s left on your plate is too small to take home? Yea so it’s kinda like that. Plus if it’s Russel’s 13 I have no problem pouring with a slightly heavier hand.
Nose reminds me of a cherry lollipop with that white paper handle that starts to dissolve once you eat it long enough. Also get some cinnamon cake on the back end as well.

This is my favorite holiday beer that gets me in the Christmas spirit. The Christmas tree is up, the fireplace is on, and bourbon county is on the she Read Morelves. Goose Island has special limited releases as well but those bottles are so expensive I find it hard to justify for a single bottle. Ironic given my passion for bourbon. Read Less
