Appe Read Morearance - This pour has a deep mahogany hue. After a quick swirl you see that it coats well, as it begins to develop legs it turns more into a sheet crawling down the glen rather than individual legs. This pour looks amazing!
Nose - As soon as you begin nosing the pour you get toasted oak and rich dark brown sugar. What a way to open it up! Then as you go back in you are greeted with dark cherry, molasses, and fresh cracked black pepper that has a slight bite. As you continue to nose you get touches of fresh vanilla, a muted chocolate, and a hint of tobacco. This nose is an absolute monster of notes and has the mouth watering in anticipation of that first sip!
Palate - As you take that first small sip you get notes of toffee and dark fruits like a deep rich cherry accompanied by some charred oak and a hint of leather. As you go back in for a second sip something magical happens. You get a rich and creamy buttery feel and taste along with pecans, rich coffee, deep dark brown sugar. All of these come together and create this amazing combined note of a pecan pie! Can I say more about just how amazing the palate of this pour is, I absolutely love all of these notes!
Finish - As you sit and allow this pour to completely unfold, you get a wonderful long finish that still gives you a lot. You get some oak spice that comes through and then gives way to some cinnamon (stick) spice and some mild chocolate. Such a wonderful finish!
Overall - This is my second experience with a PHC offering and this one is by far the better of the two, however the other was no slouch either. From the toffee and dark cherry notes that evolve to a combination of notes to create a wonderful pecan pie note, this pour is epic in my opinion.
Score #/10 - As I continue to sip and savor all this pour gives, which by the way doesn’t drink anywhere near its 132.2 proof point, I have no trouble coming to the conclusion that this pour earns an easy 9.3/10 easily making it to the special pour tier. Not many pours make it to this tier, so it should speak volumes that this pour easily secured its place with this high of a score. Read Less

Saw this at the bar and I just had to try it. There’s been a lot of hype over this bottle and I’m a fan of regular Eagle rare and high age stateme Read Morents so this should be right up my alley.
And oh my how right I was. Berry sweetness, no ethanol sweet sugars but with a more dusty and refined texture/taste. Nose and palate is pretty similar and this fixes the relatively shorter finish than the 10 year Eagle Rare. Definitely worth picking up MSRP but the secondary price is a bit ridiculous.
