The bourbon has elaborate layers of caramel, spice, and smoky wood. the palate highlights different notes with every sip. the oak and leather notes are quite strong, as well as notes of white pepper and spearmint which drive its spicy kick. polished oak and caramel lay a thick layer of sweetness over the palate while hints of tobacco leaf and the aforementioned cooked cherry flavors emerge.
The nose of this bourbon is rich with vanilla, aged oak, and light spice. other notes include rich leather, fresh tobacco leaf, warm caramel, and imposing oak. a crest of brandied cherries arrives and then recedes with a splash of cinnamon and vanilla frosting in its wake.
The finish is deep, satisfying, and engaging. it leaves the palate with a subtle dryness followed by lasting flavors of rye and dark fruit. a lengthy finish provides plenty to enjoy: red pepper flakes mingling with cracked black pepper and sweet vanilla long after each sip has dissipated.
