The bourbon has a soft but hot mouthfeel. it sips young and very dry. the cognac imparts the most flavor compared to the sherries. there are notes of baked granny smith apples, ripe grapes, currants, red wine, and vanilla custard.
The nose of this bourbon is rich, with a touch of heat. honey was the first aroma to be noted, followed by hints of citrus and leather. there are also notes of filberts, cashews, almonds, and cocoa.
The finish of this bourbon is nutty with almond and cocoa. the fruit dominates the finish yet again as notes of apricots, plums, and black cherries linger for a while. fresh mint and cinnamon fade away nicely along with some brown sugar for sweetness.
