As soon as the whiskey touched our tongue we were immediately reminded of biting into a milk chocolate bar. Flavors of roasted nut, chocolate fudge, and black pepper jump out giving this whiskey a sweet and spicy profile. There is a rawness to the whiskey that burns a little on the way down but overall I was impressed by the unique flavor profile on this whiskey
Hints of licorice and mint waft up from the glass with warm roasted chocolate undertones. Although the nose hints at the youth of the whiskey, it is still balanced, smooth, and full of aroma. This whiskey shows how a high rye percentage in the mashbill affects the nose
The finish is medium in length and full of oak, rye spice, and black pepper with hints of chocolate malt. The spice seems to sit in the back of the mouth for a while too
