Bass and middle notes of wood are what you experience most in the mouth, but not in the nose.There is still caramel, and some vanilla, moderate sweetness, and considerable spice.The bottle being tasted has been open over one year, and I notice that in that time the Flavors have actually opened up markedly and improved a great deal.
Sweet caramel, honey all high and some middle notes.

Old Charter is a rye-recipe Kentucky straight bourbon from the Buffalo Trace distillery, awarded 89 points by Wine Enthusiast, who described it as 'Me dium Gold in color, this shows a complex, well-balanced nose that shows both dry, peppery notes and a rich honey-vanilla sweetness.The body is medium, leaning toward full, and the palate follows the nose being at once dry and sophisticated with some tingly spicy notes, and also showing a sweet side full of toffee, vanilla and a rich oakiness.The finish is very long and very satisfying.
