Creamy/silky mouthfeel, rich vanilla, raisins, oak, subtle sherry, slight rye spice that builds up with hint of cinnamon.
Rich, vanilla Creme brulee, toffee, soft oak, subtle anise and a hint of sherry very nice balance.
Moderately long, nice and lingering finish.
Old Charter was a bourbon brand historically produced by Schenley at Bernheim distillery.
Schenley were acquired by United Distillers in 1987, w ith both the brand and distillery in question here finding new owners in 1999.Diageo sold Bernheim distillery to Heaven Hill, and the Old Charter brand to the Sazerac company, who still produce it at Buffalo Trace today.
This is a rare United Distillers (Diageo) version of the brand, launched as part of the Bourbon Heritage Collection in 1996
