I normally pop my bottles as soon as I get them but there is a bottle or two that I’m saving for a really special occasion. Pappy 20 is one of those bottles.

This bottle was very under appreciated in my bar for a while. I had to try it again after experiencing other bourbons over the year. Came to realize this bottle had several notes I loved.
Nose: dark fruit, caramel, & strong cinnamon
Palate: cherries, walnuts, honey, and light oak.

Really good cask strength bourbon
Grape nerds and laffy taffy. Zero oak on the nose just sugar and ethanol. This bottle packs an ethanol punch but a bigger sweetness punch on the nose.
Oh man what a rush! Such a sweet flavor but I also feel like I could cause a fire hazard if I sneezed near a candle. I think this bottle is borderline too sweet for me to enjoy for more than a pour or two. I think EHT Single Barrel is my sweet spot.

Thanks for the awesome Glen! I decided to break it in with a Rye-day pour of Corbin Cash 100% Merced Rye (147 proof) I felt it was appropriate for such a cool glass. Cheers!
